What is a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC)?

A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) enables e-mail clients to display officially registered trademarks from the sending domain, providing a verified checkmark in Gmail for additional proof of email authenticity. VMC ensures that your logo is not only visible but also trusted by recipients, protecting your brand identity and enhancing your email communications.

What is Required to Implement VMC?

1. An active DMARC policy with 100% reject or quarantine.
2. A square (roundtable) SVG-P/S vector file of the trademarked logo.
3. An approved trademark of the logo in an approved trademark/patent office.
4. An issued VMC containing the e-mail sender domains and the trademarked logo.
5. A BIMI DNS record pointing to the logo and VMC certificate + intermediaries.
6. A notary must confirm the information and the organization's declaration using the VMC (notary cost is included in the price of the VMC).
7. One VMC is required for each trademark logo, and each sending domain must be in the SAN list of the VMC.
